Shortcuts to Make Short Household Chores

Daily or frequent household chores can be a hassle. Lucky for you, we have a guide that informs you of a couple of short cuts that will decrease the time you spend cleaning and maintaining your home.

Whether you're dusting or cleaning the toilet bowl, there are shortcuts for each that can facilitate in getting your household chores done efficiently and effectively. I would advise that you get into stretching your muscles before you start your household chores to avoid "pulling" something and further impeding your home maintaining capabilities.

Dusting; the one household chore I dread because of my allergies. I used to vacuum around the house to clean up the dust off the furniture but I found out that most vacuums will spit out more dust than it's taking in. Now I use a lint roller. I use it to dust cloth lampshades, couches, and certain tables. It works perfectly and I don't have to worry about the hassle of using a vacuum cleaner. If you want to get really creative, try slipping an old sock over your hand to dust whatever comes in sight.

Microwaves have been a torment to clean. Those caked-on messes are impossible to remove with any type of cleaning agent. Well almost any kind. Try this to remove those caked-on messes. Take a cup and fill it with water. Place it inside the microwave and set it for 3 minutes. As the water boils, the super heated steam will gently loosen dried on particles and allow you to easily remove them with a single wipe. Also to further avoid those messes, whenever you warm foods inside the microwave place a plate overtop the dish so no splatter hits the inside walls.

Cleaning the oven is a bit of a back and head ache. However you can make life much easier. On nights that you do not use the oven, spray the inside with oven cleaner paying particular attention to the hard caked-on messes. Leave it for an hour or two or the whole night if your oven has very tough stains. When you arrive back at your oven, just wipe off the dirt and grime with a cotton cloth. Now you have a clean oven and that is ready to be used.

Tired of those streaks and fibers that other cloths leave behind? I had the same problem until I found this amazing cloth on the Internet. The MicroFiber cleaning cloth is perfect for any type of mirrors and windows in your car, RV, or home. I just wet it up a bit and start wiping away. Best part is that you don't have to use any type of cleaner with it. It removes dirt with just water. I would highly recommend this to any home or car owner. Furthermore, it is completely machine washable and can be re-used hundreds of times.

Toilet scrubbing is one of my most hated of household chores. That being said, I always try to limit my cleaning time in the washroom. So far I am at 9 minutes. I find that if you place the toilet bowl cleaner on the inside of the bowl, let it sit as you wipe the outside, it will greatly reduce your cleaning time. I usually take the toilet brush, give the inside a good scrub, then flush and watch my bowl sparkle. If your bowl is relatively clean, then flush and skip the scrubbing part.

Every trash day, before the garbage truck arrives, I give my refrigerator a good cleaning and dispose of any trash and bad foods that might have been missed. Once the trash is out, I grab a damp piece of cloth and rub it with baking soda. I give the inside of the fridge a good cleaning to eliminate germs and nasty odors. Baking soda will not hurt or damage any surfaces.

Cleaning dishes used to be my most hated of household chores until I found a great manner to clean them. If you have two people, whether it's your spouse, child or friend, it works much better. When cooking and eating is done sort all the dishes by pots, utensils, and plates. Have one person scrub and wash the dishes and another person dry and place them back in the cupboards. I find that it makes time go by much faster.

Spring cleaning anyone? If you find that your once very spacious house now looks like a closet, it might be time to get rid of the clutter. Certain charitable organizations, such as the Salvation Army, will personally pick up some of the items in your home. You usually have to place them in a labeled bag and leave it on your porch for them to pick up. To make this happen you must follow certain guidelines. First off, clean up all the trash and throw it out. It will make it much easier to find the things you need to keep and items you need to give away. Remember that clothing, shoes, jackets, and unexpired canned foods are best to give away first.

That's about all the short cuts I know for household chores. It will surely shave off at least 30 minutes of your house cleaning time. Remember that work goes by much quicker if you work in teams of two or more. Make a schedule where the each household chore is listed and who must get it done. I find that providing different household chores and not the same chore every time for household individuals keeps everybody happy and content.
